Modified Arts presents a collection of artwork by multi-media artist and Master Printer Brent Bond, and prints from Santo Press in Past/Present, Brent Bond/Santo Press. Brent refunctions and reinterprets popular and religious iconography in prints, photography, assemblage, and installation. The work involves questioning visual and cultural perceptions and presenting social critique and commentary through satire and humor.

Brent Bond was born 1966 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received a BFA in printmaking from California State University – Long Beach, and a MFA in printmaking from Arizona State University. Brent is an object maker as well as a prolific printmaker, photographer, and assemblagist. He addresses space and time in relation to the viewer through his multi-media installations. He is the Proprietor of Santo Press and the Studio Manager/Master Printer for: Santo Press, Scottsdale, AZ, Segura Publishing Company, Tempe, and AZ Tiny Satellite Press, Scottsdale, AZ. His works can be found in the permanent collections of the ASU Art Museum, Tempe, AZ; Fototeca del INHA, Mexico City; Hayden Library Special Collections, Tempe, AZ; Mesa Arts Center, Mesa, AZ; Northlight Gallery – ASU; Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, AZ; the Tucson Museum of Art; and the University of Arizona Library Special Collection.

Established in May of 2009 by artist and Master Printer Brent Bond, Santo Press collaborates with regionally and nationally recognized artist to create limited edition fine art prints. Specializing in small-scale relief prints that the company likes to consider both “high” and “low” art, that is high quality and low prices. The company catch phrase, “What a Relief!”, tries to capture both.
