Modified Arts ends the year with a call for art: The Square.
This shape can have many meanings and interpretations. There are art historical references that come to mind as well as more recent ones like the now defunct Instagram format. In this exhibition, it is the surface artists work on. Nothing more, nothing less.
Modified Arts has invited artists from all over Arizona to present their musings and interpretations of the square. Works in a variety of media will be presented, ranging from paintings, photographs, wall sculptures, mixed media, and others.
The invitational requirements were a square format, size limit of 12 inches on all sides, and must be wall hung. Everything else is left up to the artists.
